Telecine!

karenabadmfa:

I had telecine from 8PM-11PM yesterday and we didn’t finish the 750ft, so I have to come back on Sunday. It strikes me as odd that the 600ft of film I turned in ended up being 550ft. What happened to the other 50 ft? It disappeared. But I did my camera reports correctly so I have no idea, there’s some ghost film going on, none of my footage is missing.

Light Leaks

Kevin said that 70% of his footage (*shot with the same camera, within days of shooting my film) had light leaks. We have no idea if it is from the eye cup or from the magazine (which we didn’t gaff tape, trusting the SR3. Trust nothing. Only a couple of my shots had light leaks, and coincidentally enough, the light leaks started after Kevin shot with the camera during my shoot, on the last scene. While I was directing Michael and Hailey , I told Kevin to roll on the Color Card and Gray Card. That had light leaks on it and maybe four or five other shots in that scene had light leaks as well. I can fix the light leaks on mine in post, but we will have to reshoot Kevin’s film and do some green screen work.

I’m going to start editing this week, so I should come up with some sort of time table, plus I owe back entries, I need to get on that before the semester runs out. Also I’m going to start pre-producing my next Thesis film that I hope to shoot in May. I found a producer, so that will aleviate a lot of stress on me.

This is why film scares me.
